Fall of the Assyrian Civilization
The fall of the Assyrian civilization was extremely fast. Ashurbanipal Egypt regained its independence. His successors faced two enemies in the east. Their names were Medes and Babylonians. Egypt began to give support to their former overlords to keep Assyria as a weakened buffer state. Egypt was too weak to withstand the attacks of the Medes for a long time. It came to an end because Haran`s and Ashuruballit`s last fortress was taken. That is how the Assyrian civilization came to an end.
